Woody and herbaceous.
Coarse and highly fibrous.
A fibrous, light greenish-brown powder.

These are the woody parts of the Senna shrub. While they are part of the same potent plant, they are not the primary source of its famous purgative effects.
The stems and stalks of the Senna plant contain the lowest concentration of active laxative compounds (sennosides). They are generally considered waste material in the preparation of medicinal-grade Senna but may be included in less refined powders. Their primary characteristic is their high fiber content.
Our Senna products focus on the leaves and pods for medicinal efficacy. We ensure our primary products are free from excessive stem content.
This product consists of the cleaned, dried, and ground stems of the Senna plant, offered for formulations where a high-fiber, low-potency part of the plant is desired.
