The leaves of the ‘hundred-petalled’ Rose are rich in tannins and other compounds that give them their astringent and skin-soothing qualities. In traditional herbalism, no part of such a valuable plant was wasted, and the leaves were often used for their gentle, practical benefits when the more precious petals were reserved for other uses.
● French: Feuilles de rose

While the petals are more famous, rose leaves also possess valuable therapeutic properties. They are naturally astringent and cooling, making them beneficial for skin care. A decoction of the leaves is used as a soothing wash for irritated skin and as a gargle for sore gums and mouth ulcers. Their Pitta-pacifying nature helps to reduce redness and inflammation.
● For a Soothing Skin Wash: Create a decoction by boiling the leaf powder in water. Strain the cooled liquid and use it to wash inflamed or irritated areas of the skin.
● For a Mouth and Gum Rinse: Use the same decoction as a natural mouthwash to help tighten gums and soothe mouth sores.
Our Rose leaves are harvested from the same organic rose bushes as our petals, ensuring they are pure and free from pesticides.
The leaves are carefully dried and ground into a fine powder, capturing their gentle, healing essence.
