OUR CERTIFICATIONS

Overview

Psyllium Husk is the outer coating of the seeds of the Plantago ovata plant, which is cultivated extensively in India, especially in Gujarat and Rajasthan. This husk is almost pure soluble fiber. When consumed, it is not absorbed by the small intestine but instead travels to the colon, where it acts as a prebiotic and helps to maintain digestive regularity.

French: Psyllium blond
German: Indische Flohsamenschalen
Chinese: Chēqiánzi ké (车前子壳)
Arabic: ور ا وم (Qushur al-silium)
Spanish: Psyllium, Ispágula
Russian: Подорожник (Podorozhnik)
Japanese: サイリウム (Sairiumu)

Isabgol is Ayurveda’s most widely used and effective bulk-forming laxative. Its properties are cooling and demulcent, making it excellent for pacifying Pitta and Vata doshas. It is not a purgative; instead, it absorbs water in the intestines to form a gel-like mass that gently pushes stool along, relieving both constipation and diarrhea by adding bulk. It is used to cleanse the colon and support healthy bowel function.

For Digestive Regularity: Stir 1-2 teaspoons of Psyllium Husk powder briskly into a full glass of water or juice and drink immediately, before it thickens. It is essential to drink plenty of water throughout the day when using Psyllium.
For Thickening: It can be used as a binding and thickening agent in gluten-free baking.
