Indian Madder is a perennial climbing plant whose roots yield a natural red pigment that has been used for centuries to dye textiles. The same compounds that give it its color also give it profound medicinal properties. The roots are rich in compounds called purpurin and munjistin, which are powerful antioxidants and anti-inflammatories.

Manjistha is perhaps the most famous blood-purifying (Rakta Shodhana) herb in the entire Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia. It is a master detoxifier, especially for the lymphatic system. It is used to pacify the Pitta and Kapha doshas. By cleansing the blood and lymph, it helps to manage a vast array of skin diseases, from acne and eczema to uneven pigmentation. It promotes a clear, radiant complexion from the inside out.
● For Internal Blood Purification: Mix half a teaspoon of Manjistha powder with warm water and consume once or twice daily. It can be combined with honey to improve the taste.
● For a Complexion-Clearing Face Pack: Combine Manjistha powder with other clarifying herbs like SUPHERB® Neem and Sandalwood. Mix with honey or yogurt to create a paste that helps to fade dark spots and calm acne.
We source our Manjistha roots from the hilly regions of India, where they grow wild and develop their deep red color and high potency.
The roots are carefully harvested, dried, and ground into a fine powder, ensuring you receive one of Ayurveda's most powerful detoxifiers in its purest form.
