The SUPHERB® Amaltas consists of the dark, sweet pulp found within the long, woody pods of the majestic Cassia fistula tree, famous for its cascading chains of brilliant yellow flowers. This pulp contains anthraquinones, the active compounds responsible for its gentle purgative effect. Harvested from forests across India, the pulp is carefully extracted and prepared for use in herbal decoctions aimed at gentle detoxification and promoting digestive regularity.

In Ayurveda, Amaltas is known as Aragvadha, meaning “disease killer,” and is hailed as the best Mridu Rechana (mild laxative). It is exceptionally safe and gentle, making it suitable for cleansing the colon and relieving constipation. It primarily pacifies the Pitta dosha, making it useful for skin diseases and conditions related to excess heat in the body, helping to purify the blood.
● For a Gentle Laxative Tea: Soak 1-2 teaspoons of the powder in a cup of hot water overnight. Strain the liquid in the morning and drink on an empty stomach.
● For a Purifying Skin Decoction: Boil 1 tsp of powder in 2 cups of water until it reduces by half. Use this water to wash affected areas of the skin to help calm inflammation and irritation.
The long, heavy pods are harvested from mature trees after they have ripened fully in the sun, ensuring the pulp is sweet and potent.
The pods are broken open, and the dark, sticky pulp is carefully scraped out and dried, then ground into a pure powder free from the hard seeds and woody pod casing.
