OUR CERTIFICATIONS

Overview

Stevia is a plant in the sunflower family, native to South America but now cultivated in India. Its leaves contain natural compounds called steviol glycosides, which are hundreds of times sweeter than sugar but contain no calories. The whole, dried leaf powder offers a gentle sweetness along with the plant’s natural minerals and compounds, though it may have a slightly more bitter or licorice-like aftertaste than refined extracts.

  • French: Feuille de Stévia
  • German: Steviablatt
  • Chinese: Tiánjú yè (甜菊叶)
  • Arabic: ﺳﺗﯾﻔﯾﺎ أوراق (Awraq stivia)
  • Spanish: Hoja de estevia
  • Russian: Лист стевии (List stevii)
  • Japanese: ステビアの葉 (Sutebia no ha)

Stevia is nature’s zero-calorie sweetener. The green leaf powder is the most natural and unrefined form of the plant. It is used as a healthy alternative to sugar, especially for those managing blood sugar levels, as it does not impact glycemic index. In Ayurveda, it is considered beneficial for pacifying Kapha and Pitta doshas.

  • As a Natural Sweetener: Use the green powder to sweeten beverages like tea and coffee, or add it to smoothies. Start with a very small amount and adjust to taste, as it is very potent.
  • Note: Unlike refined white stevia extracts, the green powder will not dissolve completely and will impart a green hue to liquids.
