It is a potent tonic (Rasayana) used to build strength, nourish the reproductive tissues, and increase vitality. It is also an astringent, used to help with conditions of excess flow.

As a Rejuvenating Tonic: The powder is traditionally consumed with milk and sugar or mishri to enhance its nourishing and strengthening effects.
For Skin Care: A paste of the root powder is used topically to help reduce acne and skin blemishes due to its astringent properties.
