OUR CERTIFICATIONS

Overview

Punarnava is a creeping weed that spreads across the ground during the rainy season and then dies back, only to be “reborn” the next year. This regenerative quality is reflected in its name and medicinal action. The entire plant, especially the root, is used for its powerful diuretic and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a cornerstone of Ayurvedic formulations for renal and urinary health.

French: Boerhavie diffuse
German: Punarnava
Chinese: Huáng xì xīn (黄细心)
Arabic: و ر (Punarnava)

Japanese: プナルナバ (Punarunaba)

Punarnava literally means “the one that renews or makes new again.” It is Ayurveda’s foremost herb for kidney and fluid retention support. As a potent diuretic (Mutrala), it helps to flush excess fluids from the body, making it excellent for pacifying Kapha dosha. It is a powerful rejuvenating tonic for the kidneys and liver, helping to clear toxins and reduce swelling and edema.

For Kidney Support & Diuresis: Mix half a teaspoon of Punarnava powder with a cup of warm water and consume twice daily.
For Reducing Swelling (Edema): A paste made from the powder can be applied externally to swollen joints or areas of edema to help reduce fluid retention.
