Overview

The Arjuna is a large, evergreen tree found along riverbanks in India. Its thick, reddish bark is the primary part used for its profound medicinal properties. The bark is rich in tannins, saponins, and flavonoids, which contribute to its powerful antioxidant and cardio-protective effects. Traditionally, it is consumed as a milk decoction (ksheer pak) to ensure proper absorption of its active compounds.

French: Arjuna
German: Arjuna-Rinde

Japanese: アルジュナ (Arujuna)

Arjuna is revered in Ayurveda as the premier Hridya herb, meaning it is the ultimate tonic for the heart. It strengthens and tones the cardiac muscles, supports healthy blood pressure, and promotes overall cardiovascular health. It has a cooling potency (Sheeta Virya) and is known to pacify Pitta and Kapha doshas. Beyond heart health, its astringent quality makes it beneficial for skin, helping to tighten pores and reduce acne.

For a Heart-Health Tonic: Simmer one-half teaspoon of Arjuna powder in one cup of milk and half a cup of water until the liquid reduces by half. Strain and drink once daily.
For a Skin-Firming Face Pack: Combine 1 tsp of Arjuna powder with SUPHERB® Rose Water or honey to form a paste. Apply to the face, leave for 10-15 minutes, and rinse for a firming effect
