Overview

The Aritha fruit, or soapnut, grows on the Sapindus Mukorossi tree in the Himalayan region. The dried fruit pulp contains a high concentration of saponins, natural surfactants that foam when mixed with water. For centuries, these soapnuts have been used as a 100% natural and biodegradable alternative to chemical soaps for washing clothes, skin, and hair.

Aritha is nature’s quintessential cleanser. In Ayurveda, it is known for its potent Lekhaniya (scraping) and cleansing properties, effectively removing excess oil and buildup without stripping natural moisture. It is primarily used for hair care, balancing all three doshas, particularly Kapha. It is a key ingredient in herbal shampoos and washes to combat dandruff, promote a healthy scalp, and leave hair feeling clean, soft, and voluminous.

For a Natural Hair Cleanser: Mix 2-3 tbsp of Aritha powder with warm water to create a thin, liquid paste. Massage gently into the scalp and hair, focusing on the roots. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
As a Cleanser Booster: Add 1 tsp of Aritha powder to your regular face or body wash for a deeper, more clarifying clean. Pairs well with SUPHERB® Shikakai and Amla powder for a complete hair care ritual.
