Overview

This classic cosmetic clay gets its green color from a combination of decomposed plant matter and iron oxides. It is incredibly rich in minerals. Its primary component is often Montmorillonite, which has a strong negative ionic charge that makes it exceptionally effective at adsorbing positively charged toxins.

French Green Clay is a highly effective detoxifying clay, revered for its powerful absorbent and purifying properties. It is a workhorse for oily, combination, and acne-prone skin. It works like a sponge, drinking up excess sebum, drawing out impurities and toxins from the pores, and helping to tone and firm the skin. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect that helps to calm blemishes.

  • For an Oil-Absorbing & Pore-Refining Mask: Mix 1 part Green Clay with 2 parts water to form a smooth paste. Apply to the T-zone or all over the face. Let it dry for 15 minutes, and feel it tighten as it works. Rinse thoroughly.
  • For a Blemish Spot Treatment: Mix a small amount of clay with a drop of water to create a thick paste. Apply directly to a pimple and let it dry overnight to help reduce its size and redness.
